Chucky Edwards Presents Chucky's Report #7 - ClarkyArtist!!!

What's up everybody.

We're back with a brand new edition of #ChuckysReport once again featuring an amazing alternative artist/musician known as ClarkyArtist.

I've been blessed to have the opportunity to hear his newest album before release. He has been working on this album for over 10 years and on November 5th is finally time for the world to see the dedication and passion that has been put into it.

So let's dive into 'Commercialism'. I would have to say that this is ClarkyArtist’s most direct and unapologetic project yet — a record that pulls from personal history, raw storytelling, and collaborations that shaped the journey.

One of the things I love about this project is that it has hints of the typical commercial sound but completely flipped on its head and injected with rawness only ClarkyArtist could provide.

Throughout the project he explores addiction, loss, survival, defiance, and triumph. He perfectly weaves real-life struggle with sharp metaphors and unflinching honesty. Which he has become known for and in my opinion has mastered throughout his journey.

It’s an album about breaking cycles, honouring the ghosts of the past, and striving for transformation, all while staying grounded in the realities of artistry and self-expression.

I personally have two stand out tracks that I keep going back too. The first being 'Ghosts!' This song is definitely one that will pull at your heart strings. As it explores loss in all its forms — whether it’s family, friends, relationships, or even pets. It captures that haunting moment when you instinctively turn to speak to someone who’s no longer there. This one really hits home and makes me think of my own father.

The other stand out track for me is called discernment. Which evolved from an idea from ClarkyArtist's brother. The

song is about seeing clearly after pain. Violence, heartbreak, and regret give way to growth and clarity. The refrain of “not looking back” becomes a declaration of strength. It also has a feature from True Duology comrade Cazniac, so you know it delivers with fluidity that is rarely found.

I will leave a link to the project below. Be sure to check it out.

Now I have decided to conduct an interview with ClarkyArtist to find out more about the album and what makes this one so special.

Chucky Edwards:
I know you have been working on this project in one way or another for a long time. What made now the right time to drop it?

ClarkyArtist:
Honestly, timing just finally aligned — both creatively and personally. I’d been sitting with a lot of these ideas for years, but I didn’t want to force it. I wanted to make sure the project actually meant something, not just fill a release slot. It’s like the world, my headspace, and the music all finally synced up. It felt like, “Yeah — this is the time to say this.”

Chucky Edwards:
What was your favourite moment during the making of this album?

ClarkyArtist:
There were a few, but probably the moments where everything just clicked unexpectedly. Like.. those late-night sessions where something you’ve been chasing suddenly comes alive — that spark is unbeatable.. and those moments are rare. Also, I'd be lying if I didn't mention that some of my

favourite moments were working with (some of my favourite) people .. people who genuinely got the vision AND added their own flavour — that made it feel so much bigger than just me. — Much love to my brothers, Cazniac & The Atom Is Us for their input, hard work and overall support ❤️

Chucky Edwards:
What was the hardest song to complete and what allowed you to push through?

ClarkyArtist:
There’s always that one track that nearly breaks you — for me, it was probably 'Find A Cure' OR 'Creatures Of Habit' I kept overthinking them both, trying to find the perfect balance between meaning and vibe... between melody and flow.. between emphasis and clarity...

Eventually I realised it didn’t need to be perfect — it just needed to be real. Once I stopped forcing it and just let the emotion lead, they fell into place naturally.

Chucky Edwards:
What was your main goal with this album and was there anything you wanted to come across to the people listening?

ClarkyArtist:
I wanted it to reflect that weird, messy balance between art and survival — how creativity gets tangled up with money, validation, ego, and all the noise of “being seen.” But at the same time, I really wanted to challenge and experiment with what people call “commercial” or “mainstream” music — to flip it a bit, give it that alternative twist and show it can still have depth and meaning.

It’s also a statement piece for me — I’m more than just a rapper, and I hate being boxed in as someone who only does one sound or genre, when that’s so far from the truth. This album’s a proper genre-bending, style-blending showcase. It’s me exploring all the different sides of what I can do, while still saying something real through it.

Chucky Edwards:
Bit of a random question but if you could describe the album in just a sentence. How would you describe it?

ClarkyArtist:
It’s me twisting the mainstream inside out — a genre-bending, chaos-meets-clarity kind of statement that says I’m not in a box, I built the box, and then I set it on fire.

Chucky Edwards:
I’ll leave the floor open for you, is there anything else you would like to add or share?

ClarkyArtist:
Support the vision!
Stay locked in for more to come!!

I want to say a massive thank you to ClarkyArtist for answering my questions.
